We can't believe that Terry is gone, but we will consider ourselves abundantly blessed to have had the privilege to sit with Terry and Julie and talk about life and marriage. We know without a doubt how deeply blessed we each are to have heard from his heart more times than our minds can remember. Sunday after Sunday, we sat with our families and friends like many others and listened to Terry open God's Word and share from it with a heart consumed with the pursuit of godliness. We can only guess how much glory the Lord has received from the life and legacy of Pastor Terry.

At the same time, we know that this whole story of heartbreak is not about Terry. It is not about us. It is not about pain. It is about the great and mighty God we serve! It is about opening the eyes of His people to His holiness and knowing that life is never as small as one person or one period of heartbreak. Life is about love--loving God and loving others. The love God has shown us through even these difficult days has been enough to take His people through many uncertain days ahead.

As the Zolman family, the Merriam Christian Chapel family, and the worldwide family of God grieves for the loss of a God-seeking man, we can all remember the true purpose of Terry's life. While he was a man who loved his family, friends, and congregation--who gave of his life abundantly for others--he was here on this earth for much more. The purpose of His life was to bring glory to God, and to make known the love and PLAN that God has for all of humanity. The fact that God has a plan for each person's life was a reality that was never questionable in the teaching that Terry gave from God's Word.

Our lives hold a strong direction, because of the God we serve and the consistent reminders we have received from Terry throughout our lifetimes that GOD'S PLAN is still coming to pass and that we were and are a part of it. Even now, though Terry is home with the Father, we all know without a doubt--even his grieving family--that "God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."

We praise the Lord for His goodness which He has shown us through the life and death of Terry Zolman. Our hearts continue to ache with you and our prayers continue to go before the Father for your blessing and His glory. To God be the glory, both now and forever.

"Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings." Psalm 61:1-4
Lord be that strong tower, refuge, and shelter for our dear Pastor's family right now. Give them the peace that passes all understanding. We love you and know that this is all part of your perfect plan, but it hurts so. Thank you for your steadfast love. Amen.

On behalf of Karla and myself, I wish to convey the shock and grief we share with you at Terry's loss, tempered only by the knowledge of where he stands now, and the legacy of a life lived in harmony with the heart of God. We wish we could have known him better, but even in our infrequent visits home from the mission field we always felt that there was something special about Terry, a man who knew what suffering was and from whom the life of Christ was always oozing out. He was a role model to us all.

Our prayers go up to the Father on your behalf. We want so much to hear that Terry is regaining health. We want even more to know that our great God is being glorified. How blessed we are to know that He is always glorified. In this time of waiting and pain, stay strong in His power and remember that His grace is always sufficient. "Lord, please heal our brother and friend!"

Dear Zolmans,
We can't begin to understand all that you family is going through right now. Please know that we have been and will continue to pray for all of you. We pray for healing and comfort for Pastor Terry, as well and comfort, strength, wisdom and peace for all of you, and also wisdom for all of the doctors and nurses carrying for Pastor. You have MANY people lifting you up continually and hoping and praying for healing and miracles!

Dear Zolman Family,

I have never met any of you before, but I have been in touch with the Slavic Gospel Association, and they have told me about Terry and his fall. I just wanted to let you know that I am praying for your family, and I have seen the LORD do great things in my own life - so, don't lose heart, because He is faithful to provide what is entirely best for your family. He who promised is faithful to bring Terry out this situation in full health and vigor, so don't fret about the circumstance.

Don't forget also the Lord Jesus Christ who has adopted us into the kingdom of God and has secured our redemption through His blood shed on the cross. Because we have God as Father, we now have access to the throne of God under the veil having been lifted, so God only promises and will be faithful to give us the grace and mercy to help in time of need :) He has secured everlasting life for us who have trusted in His Son's precious name, so we don't have to lose hope - because, we'll be with Him for eternity :)

Love you all, and I'll be looking for updates,
A Servant of the LORD

Dear Zolman Family,

As we are instructed in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to "pray continually;" Pastor Terry and the entire family are in our continual prayers. We pray for guidance and wisdom of the medical staff taking care of Pastor Terry. We pray for the MCC family as well during this time of uncertainty and worry. We are forever grateful that we have a God to "TRUST" (Proverbs 3:5) in times of great need. ~Jon and Elizabeth Luckey, Fort Wayne, IN

Terry sat with us at Mom's bedside when she was very ill and now I am sitting there with you in spirit, knowing how difficult it is. I am praying and reminded of Jeremiah 32:17 "I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?"
